Cecil Cremeans, 95, of Vincent, OH passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Kimes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Athens, OH.
He was born July 8, 1917, one of twelve children born to Alferd and Myrtie Cremeans. He was raised in Meigs County, Ohio from the age of five years old and spent most of his life in Meigs, Athens and Washington Counties. He attended Vanderhoof School. Cecil married Helen Lemaster in June 1937 and they spent the next 58 years together until her death in 1995. Cecil had a laid back, easy going disposition and was loved by everyone, especially children. In Oct. 2012, he asked God into his life.
Cecil was an avid horseman and trainer of horses. He worked his own Farming and Timber business for approximately 20 years, worked at Amer. Viscose Corp. aproximately 20 years and continued farming as a hobby after retiring to his small farm in Washington County.
He is survived by 5 children, Ruby Bacus of Vincent, OH, Phyllis Perdue of Vincent, OH, Russell V. Brenda of Albany, OH, Lowell G. Linda of Albany OH and Ronnie Joan of Crown City, OH; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Calaway of Tuppers Plains, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; 6 brothers, George, Sam, Roy, Ben, James and Leonard; an infant brother; 3 sisters, Hazel, Elsie and Edith; 2 sons-in-law, Bill Bacus and Pete Perdue.
Services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Edsel Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
