Charles D. Barton, 57, of 22481 Brister Rd., Coolville, OH passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens, OH.
He was born April 10, 1951 in Mansfield, OH son of Gladys Sampson Barton and the late Robert R. Barton. He was a retired Furnace Operator for Eramet, a member of the American Legion Post 15 in Parkersburg, and a Vietnam Army veteran.
In addition to his mother, Gladys Barton, he is survived by his wife, Pamela Harker Barton; a son, Joshua and Cassie Barton; a grandson, Lonnie; a granddaughter, Payton; a brother Jeff and Sheila Barton; 3 sisters, Linda and Kermit Ruble, Robin and Charles Thompson and Kristy Barton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Barton.
Services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Edsel Hart officiating. There will be no graveside services.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M.
