Doris Virgene Sweeney

Doris Virgene Sweeney, 91, of Stewart, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at her home.
Born Nov. 7, 1915 in a little town called Ireland, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie Brandeberry.
Doris was the widow of the late Edwin Sweeney Sr. She was a homemaker for many years after she retired from doing law library services. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Toby. She was a member of the Stewart United Methodist Church for over 50 years and taught.
Doris is survived by a son, Edwin Jr. Kitty Sweeney of the home; two grandsons, Edwin Sweeney III Teresa Signore of Columbus; Craig Lisa Sweeney of Guysville; three great-grandchildren, Bridget Jamie Washburn of Amesville, Sean and Jennifer Sweeney of Guysville; three great-great-grandchildren, Harlee, Chelsea and Austin Washburn; a step-grandson, Shaunn Barron; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband of 50 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harley and James; 7 sisters, Flossie, Ferol, Alice, Mary, Helen, Elsie and an infant sister, Bessie; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at the Coolville Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
