Gladys Barton

On November 4, 2016, Gladys Myrl (Sampson) Barton died with her family by her side. She was born on March 8, 1930, in Orma, West Virginia to the late H. D. and Estel Sampson. She was loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a foster mother to many.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Kermit) Ruble of Coolville, Ohio, Robin (Charles) Thompson of Rockport, West Virginia, Jeffrey (Sheila) Barton of Coolville, Ohio, Kristy (Chris) Deck of Lancaster, Ohio and daughter-in-law, Pam Barton of Coolville, Ohio; one sister, Carolyn Sue (Benny) Smith of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Rick (Brenda) Sampson of Coolville, Ohio and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Raymond Barton; her son, Charles Barton; three sisters, Margie Benedum, Anna (Kate) Weekley and Ida Mae Spradlin and two brothers, David and Daris Sampson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio with Edsel Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Weatherby Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
