Jesse W. "Bill" Backus
Jesse W. "Bill" Backus, 76, of Vincent, OH went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.
He was born June 19, 1931 in Wirt County, WV son of the late Charles N. and Elsie Everhart Backus. He was a member of the Decatur Methodist Church and was retired from Wood County School. He also drove a bus for Belpre and Warren Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Cremeans Backus; four sons, Jessie "Bill" Backus of Parkersburg, Gary Connie Backus of Parkersburg, Larry Linda Backus of Little Hocking and Terry Backus of Belpre; two daughters, Peggy Stuart of Parkersburg and Pamela Jerry Lot of Vincent; step-children, Laura Bob Jordan of Cutler, Mitchell Tammy Judson of Little Hocking, Wayne Becky Judson of Belpre and John Peggy Judson of Cochan, GA; a sister, Consuelo "Connie" Pickens of Williamstown, WV and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, Forest, Leroy, Norton and Harry; two half-brothers, Clifford and Leonard Deem; two sisters, Julia Backus and Eleanor Backus; two half-sisters, Elmo Leeson and Jewl Deem.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2007 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Dwayne Stutler officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery, Little Hocking.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
