Mary E. Buyers
Mary E. Buyers, 67, daughter of Herve A. Ritchie and Marigole White Ritchie Wilson and step-daughter of Reed Wilson, passed away the morning of Thursday, January 6, 2011 at home in Frederick, MD.
She is survived by brother, Donald Ritchie and wife, Marsha of Marion, Ohio, brother, Ronald Ritchie and wife, Hazel of Zanesville, OH and brother, James Wilson and wife, Linda of Beverly Hills, Mich. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Hartung; and grandson, Lucas Brubaker. Also surviving are daughter, Terri Brubaker and husband Britt of Frederick, daughter, Laura "Jeanie" Buyers and adopted daughter, Stacey Sowers of Charlotte, N.C.; and son, Gary Buyers II and wife Giovy of Charlotte, N.C., and grandchildren, Ashley Berger of Boonsboro, Nicole Brubaker and Chris and Nathan Buyers. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She worked for the federal government for 20 years; Bob Evans in Frederick, Fredericksburg, VA and Circleville, Ohio for 15 years; and did in home nursing for five years.
She was an avid quilter with the Golden Needles Quilting Bee. She participated in making and donating 1, 000 quilts for the Pickaway County CASA Program for children.
Memorial services will be held at noon, Saturday, March 5, at the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home 2817 Fifth St., Coolville, Ohio, with reception to follow.
Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick at a later date to be determined.
