Nirvana Licia Zimmerman 68 of Athens passed away Saturday March 10th, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio.

Nirvana loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was born in Albany, Ohio to Elisa (Zamparutti) McVey of Guysville, Ohio and the late Owen McVey on February 12th, 1950. She attended school in Coolville and Stewart, Ohio, as well as Udine, Italy. She married Roger L. Zimmerman on May 13th, 1979. She worked for and retired from GTE/Verizon. She was currently a volunteer for RSVP.

Nirvana is survived by her husband Roger Zimmerman, and children Michael Dixon (Melissa), Frances Dixon, Joshua Zimmerman, and Nicolette Zimmerman. Mother Elisa McVey. Siblings Diana Dienoff, Tino McVey (Marilyn), Terry McVey, Cary McVey, Linda Weiss (Jerry), Gloria Barnhart (Bill), Timbi McVey and Steven McVey (Shellie). In-laws Kathy and Mary McVey, Bill, Leonard, Lawrence, Ralph (Dorthy), Jess, and Johnny Zimmerman. Grandchildren Seth Fowler, Jerry Dixon, and Kiana Dixon. Great-grandchildren Nahla Estes, Brielle Cherry, and Max Fowler, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Nirvana is preceded in death by her father Owen McVey, brothers Larry and Marco McVey, grandmother Luigia Burello, aunts Erminia Zamparutti and Alba Zamero, first husband Jerome Dixon and son-in-law TJ Hilleary.

Funeral services will be held at 5 P.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH with Jim Lambert officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-5 P.M. at the funeral home.
