Rev. Robert Sanders, 82, of Reedsville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at his residence.
He was born December 14, 1928 in Reedsville, son of the late Ira and Effie Founds Sanders.Robert "Bob"to his friends, was a member of Mt. Hermon United Brethren in Christ Church, Pomeroy, Ohio, and the former pastor for 23 years. He pastored Churches in Perry, Hocking, Washington and Meigs Counties for 47 years. He taught school for 30 years, retiring from the Eastern Local School District. He served in the Army-AirForce in the Phillipines in 1946-47.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nina Brannon Sanders, daughters Deborah Michael Holbrook, Logan, Ohio; Deedrah Simmons, Reedsville, Ohio; DeLeah David Marshall, Parkersburg, WV;son Jonathan Emily Sanders, Reedsville, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a sister Inez Belle Whited, Pataskala, Ohio;several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Sanders and a sister, Dorothy Dodderer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 1:00, with the Rev. Peter Martindale officiating.Burial will be in the Tuppers Plains Christian Cemetery, in Tuppers Plains, Ohio. Friends may call at the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
