Susan Elizabeth “Bettie” Pigott
Long Bottom—Susan Elizabeth “Bettie” Pigott, (88) went to Heaven on November 15, 2014. She was born April 4, 1926 in Racine, Ohio, daughter of the late Roy H. Bush and Constance Lewis Bush.
She married James “Willard” Pigott in July 1946 and lived most of her life on Mt. Olive in Long Bottom, Ohio. She was a Christian and faithfully attended Mt. Olive Community Church. She spent most of her life caring for others and enjoyed quilting.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and husband’s parents; 4 brothers, Bob, Roy, Lawrence and Jacob Bush; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don Pigott, Annie Summerfield, Rex and Sina Bailey, Henry and Eileen Bahr, Royal Wilson and Flossie Bush.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Charlene (Steve) Hamilton of Murray City, Ohio, Rachael (Michael) Bean of Nelsonville, Ohio and Iris (Chuck) McClure of Moundsville, WV and Carol Wells, who was like a daughter, of Nelsonville, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Malinda (John) Johnston, John (Anita) Wells, Josh (Diane) Matheny, Tricia (Jason) Triplett; 5 step-grandchildren, Nathan and Tasha Hamilton, Levi (Shelly) Bean, Devan and Gavan McClure; 4 great-grandchildren, Eric Johnston, Brittany Curfman, Alyssa and Lacy Triplett; brothers, Charles (Marie) Bush, Ernie Bush, George (Mary) Bush and sister, Clara (Herb) McIntyre, sisters-in-law, Billie Bush, Violet Bush, Suzanne Bush, Lucille Wilson and Lorena Wolf; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio with viewing on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6 pm until time of service at 7 pm with Reverend John Johnson and Reverend Charles Bush officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Long Bottom, Ohio where she will be placed by Willard’s side.
