Sylvia Betty Rummer Fortney, 92, of Guysville died at Arcadia Nursing Facility, Friday, April 1 after an extended illness.
She was born in El Dorado, KS, daughter of the late Gordner and Doris Roberts Rummer. She retired from the Athens Mental Health Center with 25 years of service. She was a member of South Canaan Baptist Church, Lottridge Senior Citizens and Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Nina Larry Russell of Guysville and Marjorie Bill McPherson of Coolville; a son, Mark Vickie Fortney of Guysville; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Fortney; a son, Maurice Jan Fortney; two sisters, Juanita Tilton and Mildred Chandler of Lowell.
Services will be held 11 A.M., Monday. April 4, 2011 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, Oh with Pastor Monte McCune officiating. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Lowell, OH.
