T. Anne Brown West

Anne West passed away on September 14, 2011, at her home in Reedsville, Ohio.
She was born the daughter of Richard B. and Clara Hall Brown, on June 16, 1948, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Her family moved to Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1953. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1966. She was a member of the Girls' Athletic Association and was proud to have served as a Team Captain. Her love of sports continued her entire life. She coached the Riverview Elementary basketball team in the late 1970's, and she and her boys won the Northeastern League Championship in 1979. She played softball at the Dugout in Parkersburg throughout the 1980's and early 1990's. She was an avid supporter of women in sports and was a faithful watcher of the College Championship Softball World Series every year.
Anne was also an avid fan of music. Her knowledge of rock and roll cannot be surpassed. She loved her albums and played them frequently. Pink Floyd, Dio, Journey, Motorhead and Ozzy Osbourne were a few of her favorites. She never discriminated when it came to music. She understood the emotion of music and passed the love onto her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Anne is survived by her husband of 45 years, Billy West; her children, son, Michael Katherine West of Wheeling, West Virginia, and her twins, Gerald and Judith Shawn Reaser, of Reedsville, Ohio; her sister/best friend, Sandra Thomas Purcell, of Long Bottom, Ohio; granddaughters, Denise Stephen Gerlach, of New Haven, West Virginia and Hannah West of Hurricane, West Virginia; one grandson, Carl Salser, of Reedsville, Ohio and one great-grandson, Trevor Gerlach. She had ten nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Phyllis Boston and Judith Jarvis; her brother, Richard, Jr; her brother-in-law, James K. Boston; and her mother and father-in-law, David and Hazel West.
Annie was beloved by all who knew her and would want them all to know that she loved them too.
Per Anne's request, there will be no funeral services. A party in her honor will be held at a later date.
