Warren "Red" VanMeter

Warren F. "Red" VanMeter, 84, of Alfred, OH passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 8, 1925 in Alfred, OH son of the late Fred and Bertha Tatman VanMeter. He was a 3 year Army Air Force Veteran, a farmer, an Olive-Orange School bus driver, a lifetime member of Tuppers Plains VFW Post 9053, a member of Middleport American Legion and a retired operator for ODOT.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte Janesofsky VanMeter; 2 daughters, Joyce and Jerry Burke of Alfred and Sandra and George Wilson of New Mexico; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harvey, Wilson and Charles; 2 sisters, Linnie Wren and Irene Bowers.
Services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Gene Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, Chester, OH, where military graveside services will be conducted by Tuppers Plains VFW Post 9053.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, from 5-8 P.M.
