Clarence Pewee Lloyd Hayes, 79, of Little Hocking, OH passed away Monday, April 17, 2012 at his residence.
He was born January 4, 1933 in Parkersburg, WV son of the late Andrew and Edna Mae Fury Hayes.
Clarence was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Japan and Korea. He worked at Elkem Metals for 33 years as Head Tapper and Crane Operator. He enjoyed playing dominoes, working puzzles and was an avid gardener. He loved his family and looked forward to Sunday dinner with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma Louise Davis Hayes; 3 sons, Andrew Hayes, Bruce Missy Hayes all of Coolville and Wayne Hayes of Torch; 2 daughters, Marie Palmer of Little Hocking and Debbie Burl Chambers of Elizabeth, WV; 5 grandsons, Bruce, Mike, Chris, Lyle and Brian; 4 granddaughters, Michelle, Cindy, Amy and Lydia; great-grandsons, Daimian, Brock, Briar, Kartyr, Isaiah, Eljiah and Hunter; great-granddaughters, Tiffany, Aaliyah, Alexis, Ashlyn, Katrina and Olivia; and a sister, Mildred Fred McDonald of Torch, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Gene, Carroll and Chester; 3 sisters, Mary, Geroldene and Violet; 3 grandsons, James and Jeffery Caldwell and Jesse Hayes; and 3 great-grandsons, Austin Hayes, Andrew Caldwell and Zacheriah Kennerly.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Kelli Cawley and to Hospice.
Services will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, April 20, 2012 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Rev. Seldon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery, Hockingport, OH.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, from 7-9 P.M.
