Stanley Norman Joy

Stanley Norman Joy, 65, of Partlowe, VA passed away in his home Friday, April 22, 2022. He was born April 29, 1956 in Elizabeth, WV to Thomas N. Joy and Nora Kathryn Whytsell Joy Ladd. He was a professional concrete finisher for 45 years and a US Army veteran. Stanley was a kind and friendly soul to all. Stanley is survived by his mother, Nora Ladd of Fort Defiance, VA; one brother, Roger Whytsell of Fort Mill, SC; two sisters - Mary Joy Tabler of Fort Defiance, VA and Martha Joy Bill of Elizabeth, WV; his son, Gabriel Stanley (& Jessica) Joy of Gonzales, LA; his daughters - Rachel Rae (& Matthew) Joy Dimery of Florence, SC and Amber Ariel Joy of Verona, VA; a longtime friend, Regina Rea and her daughter Crystal Beland; 10 grandchildren – Tyree and Jenna Shimkoski, Kyra, Eliana, Maliki, and Nora Grace Joy; Lydia, Elana and Sadie Dimery; Journey Joy Platt, and two great-granddaughters. Stanley was preceded in death by his grandparents - Floyd & Cynthia Joy and Simon & Laura Whytsell; his father, Thomas N. Joy, two brothers – Mark Douglas and Thomas Theodore Joy; a sister, Margaret Jean Joy; and a great-grandson, Carson Sutphin. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00PM at the Covenant Funeral Home, 10830 Patriot HWY, Fredericksburg, VA. The funeral service will be at 2:10PM, immediately after the reception, presided by Brenda Joy Young. A graveside service and interment will be at the Ladd Family Cemetery at 7155 Federal RD in Cutler, OH on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00AM.
